Every so often (hopefully, monthly), depending on my time constraints, I will post material (e.g., news articles, research papers, websites, books) that I think are noteworthy and would recommend to anyone to read. Ignorance is not bliss. Knowledge is power.
Happy reading, world! -Jenny
This month, I stumbled upon this book (Law 101: Everything You Need to Know About American Law, 5th ed.) while I was researching recommended books for those interested in law or the study of law (such as in law school). I wanted a book that would be a relative easy read, nothing esoteric but still, provide me with considerable insight beyond what the typical layperson might know or understand about the American legal system. Just reading the few examples of real cases, verdicts and the outline of the table of contents at the beginning of the book was hugely insightful. I would recommend this book to anyone for the reason that every person is affected by the laws of our land, and more knowledge is more power.
